Appointments

coffeediaryIf you have a serious medical emergency such as a collapse, acute shortness of breath or a heart attack, you should dial 999 immediately.

Appointment System

We book appointments for the GPs and the Nurse Practitioners up to 2 weeks in advance. Our hopes are that if you wish to see a GP regarding a pre-existing condition then you can book in to an appointment within the 2 weeks.  If you suffer from a long term condition such as diabetes, COPD or Hypertension then we have nurse led clinics for these rather than GP appointments.

Please be aware that many of the GPs are now part time and are happy for you to see the newer Doctors - Dr Findlay is only in surgery on a Monday, Dr Bowron is now part time as is Dr Carlton.

SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS

As from Monday 19th November 2012 all requests to be seen on the same day will be assessed by one of our nurses.  This is needed to help direct patients into correct appointments.  The Nurses will aim to call you back within an hour of your request.  They will then either give advice, arrange a same day appointment or a future routine appointment.

There are many occasions when you may feel you need to see the doctor when in fact another member of our team is more appropriate – please do not be offended if the reception staff ask what the problem is, they are only trying to direct you to the most appropriate appointment.

Extended Hours Appointments

Unfortunately due to a reduction in funding we will no longer be participating in the formal extended hours scheme from 1st April 2012.  We do have a number of appointments available at 8.00am and some between 5.00pm and 5.30pm.

Book your appointments online

Before you can start booking GP appointments online you must first register your details for this service.

It is quick and easy to register. You will need to come into the surgery for an application form and then you will be given the relevant details to enable you to set up an account and use the system.

Once registered you will be able to view any appointments you have already made, cancel them if necessary, or book a new appointment with the doctor.

When you book an appointment online you will receive confirmation which you can print off and bring with you when you attend the surgery. There is no need to reconfirm

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO KEEP YOUR APPOINTMENT PLEASE LET US KNOW SO IT MAY BE GIVEN TO SOMEONE ELSE.

If you “fail to attend” 3 appointments within a year you may be removed from our register or called in for an appointment with the Practice Manager.
