Reception Hours are 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday
If you have a serious medical emergency such as a collapse, acute shortness of breath or a heart attack, you should dial 999 immediately.
Changes to Appointment System
From 19th October 2009 our appointment system will change allowing patients to arrange an appointment 2 weeks in advance. We will no longer (as far as possible!) be asking “is it urgent for today?” Our hopes are that if you wish to see a GP regarding a pre-existing condition then you can book in to an appointment within the 2 weeks. However if you feel you need to be seen that day then this will be possible but we cannot guarantee which doctor/nurse practitioner you will see. Please bear with us whilst we make these changes and unfortunately we still do not think this will solve the unsolvable demand for Dr Bowron appointments. If in the past you have seen the doctor for your hypertension/asthma you will be asked to make appointments in the nurse led clinics.
There are many occasions when you may feel you need to see the doctor when in fact another member of our team is more appropriate – please do not be offended if the reception staff ask what the problem is, they are only trying to direct you to the most appropriate appointment.
Extended Hours Appointments
EXTENDED HOURS APPOINTMENTS ARE UNABLE TO BE MADE ONLINE - PLEASE CALL TO MAKE ONE.
As from the 19th October 2009 the surgery will be slightly changing the extended hours appointments. They will now be available on a Monday morning between 7.30 - 8.00 am and on a Monday evening between 6pm and 7.30pm with most Doctors. Dr Benstead is now doing a well woman clinic on Wednesdays from 5pm until 7.00pm
Can we please urge only those patients who CANNOT attend during our normal working day to take these appointments, i.e .patients who work or have awkward shift patterns. Before you ask for one of these or book one online you need to be aware that they are for non urgent matters (the urgent care centre still provides cover 6pm until 8am) and that our phones will still divert to the Urgent Care Centre during these extended hours. Also should you be given a prescription please be aware that the chemist next door may not be open. For any further information please ask one of the reception team or Philip Jackson the Practice Manager who will be happy to advise.
Before you can start booking GP appointments online you must first register your details for this service.
It is quick and easy to register. You will need to come into the surgery for an application form and then you will be given the relevant details to enable you to set up an account and use the system.
Once registered you will be able to view any appointments you have already made, cancel them if necessary, or book a new appointment with the doctor.
When you book an appointment online you will receive confirmation which you can print off and bring with you when you attend the surgery. There is no need to reconfirm

If you “fail to attend” 3 appointments within a year you may be removed from our register or called in for an appointment with the Practice Manager.
